About
simplefuture is a boutique design studio that thrives on creating thoughtful, impactful design solutions.
Founded by Cheryl Roder-Quill, simplefuture has built a reputation for delivering creative, strategic, and visually stunning design work, spanning identity design, packaging, print collateral, and event graphics.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Cheryl brings a wealth of experience and a passion for storytelling through design. She’s worked with clients of all shapes and sizes — from startups to nonprofits, mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies. No matter the scale or scope, simplefuture is here to help businesses clarify their message, elevate their branding, and connect with their audience in meaningful ways.
Cheryl’s career began after graduating from The Ohio State University Department of (Industrial) Design in 1988, kicking things off with work for iconic brands like The Limited, Bath & Body Works, and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill. Her journey has taken her coast to coast — from leading independent projects in Columbus, Cupertino, Park City and San Diego to working with design studios in Pittsburgh and the Silicon Valley. This diverse background fuels her ability to adapt to a variety of clients, industries and challenges.
These days, Cheryl’s creative energy is also channeled into Sonicglow, her passion project turned thriving business. Sonicglow creates bold, retro-inspired, custom-blended scented candles that celebrate the power of scent and memory. Cheryl’s role as a designer and storyteller shines through in every aspect of Sonicglow, from its vibrant packaging to its unforgettable sensory experiences.
When she’s not designing or hand-pouring candles, Cheryl can be found soaking up inspiration through travel, music festivals, outdoor adventures and her love of books and music. Whether through simplefuture or Sonicglow® Candles, Cheryl’s mission is to create work that sparks connection, creativity and joy.
“Simply put, Cheryl is the most professional graphic designer I have worked with to date. Very talented creatively, she also brings a great sense of project management and seeing a project through. Extremely effective at execution.”
